John Paisie

Mr. Paisie is responsible for managing the research and consulting business worldwide. Prior to joining Stratas Advisors, Paisie was a partner with PFC Energy, a strategic consultancy based in Washington, D.C., where he led a global practice focused on helping clients (including IOCs, NOC, independent oil companies and governments) to understand the future market environment and competitive landscape, set an appropriate strategic direction and implement strategic initiatives. He worked more than eight years with IBM Consulting (formerly PriceWaterhouseCoopers, PwC Consulting) as an associate partner in the strategic change practice focused on the energy sector while residing in Houston, Singapore, Beijing and London. He was also a leader in the mergers and acquisition practice, and participated in several transactions. As an expatriate, he lived in Southeast Asia, China, the Middle East, Europe and Latin America. He started his career as an engineer with Sun Oil and worked as a project manager for Saudi Aramco before moving into strategy consulting. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Toledo and his MBA from Purdue University.


Dr. Sang Lee

Dr. Lee is responsible for analyzing the energy data value chain (oil, natural gas, NGLs, biofuels, refined products and petrochemicals) to develop forecasts and quantitative/analytic models in the Stratas Advisors’ analytics group. He is developing and enhancing forecasting models for global and regional energy demand, supply and prices using an econometrics approach. He is also performing various sensitivity and scenario analyses and high-level analytic or pricing modeling. Prior to joining Stratas Advisors, he worked for GS E&C, a global engineering firm, where he performed market research on pursuing business opportunities in the oil and gas markets by analyzing upstream, midstream and downstream value chains, along with dynamic energy market outlooks. He was responsible for analyzing and reporting energy market fundamentals for global oil and gas markets to support the company’s strategic decision-making process. He earned a bachelor degree from SungKyunKwan University in South Korea and a masters and doctorate from Texas A&M University.


Huiming Li

Ms. Huiming Li, based in Singapore, directs research and consulting for the Global Fuel Specifications (formerly the International Fuel Quality Center) and the Global Transport Fuels Assessment (GTFA) subscription services. Li has more than 15 years of experience in fuels and transport consulting. She leads GFS’s mission to improve communications among the refining, automobile and governmental sectors and enhance understanding of fuel-quality issues, and advises GFS clients, companies, governments and non-governmental organizations on fuel quality and policy issues. She also runs and oversees the Singapore office as its legal representative. Prior to leading the GFS service, she directed research and consulting on the Asia-Pacific region for its fuels and transport services. Ms. Li was a key author of the annual Global Biofuels Outlook, and has made numerous presentations on global and Asian fuel quality and biofuels developments at regional conferences and strategic meetings with clients. Ms. Li, a native of Singapore, earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in chemical engineering from the National University of Singapore. She is bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese.


Eric Lundin

Mr. Lundin is responsible for energy demand forecasting for Stratas Advisors, with a focus on refined products and biofuels. He has 12 years of experience in developing forecast models and analyzing downstream energy markets and vehicle fleet dynamics. His demand forecasting analysis has included assessments of over 100 countries at the sector and fuel level, under multiple scenarios examining sensitivity to changes in a wide range of driver variables including price assumptions. Prior to joining Stratas Advisors he was a senior consultant at IHS, where he was responsible for assessing and modeling global refined product demand, including the linkages between gasoline and diesel demand with vehicle fleets and the biofuel markets.


Bright Aditya

Mr. Banerjee has more than 8 years of experience in the downstream sector. Mr. Banerjee has consultancy experience with Americas and Asia refining & chemicals markets with a specific focus on fundamental analysis, including a deep knowledge in data management, analytics, and forecasting of refined and petrochemical products. Before joining Stratas Advisors, Mr. Banerjee was a Senior Associate, at Sapient Consulting, and Research Analyst at Wood Mackenzie, where he developed data analytics and visualization capability on refinery supply chain, including refinery wharf analytics and supply demand balances. Mr. Banerjee started his career in 2007 as a Process Engineering Intern at Reliance Industries Limited in Jamnagar, India and then worked with Larsen and Toubro (Mumbai) in India. Mr. Banerjee received a MS in Environmental Science from Rice University and holds a BS in Chemical Engineering at the Institute of Chemical Technology (Mumbai) from India.


Cornelius

Cornelius Claeys | Director, Renewables and Decarbonization | +32.49.44.33.247 | email

Cornelius directs research and consulting for the Stratas Advisors' renewables and decarbonization practices, including the Global Biofuels Assessment, the Global Biofuels Outlook and Global Alternative Fuels services. His core expertise is in biofuel feedstocks, regulatory impact assessments, e-fuels, SAF and renewable diesel. Other topics on which he presented at international conferences include aviation biofuel production costs, the impact of road electrification on biofuel demand and follow-up legislation to the European Green Deal. Before joining Stratas Advisors, Cornelius worked in Saudi Arabia, where he conducted research on the economic effects of legislative reforms in the energy sector. He also has experience in the European Commission’s DG Trade, Brussels-based think tanks and international business media. Cornelius has a Degree in Applied Economics: Business Engineering and a Master in European Studies from the University of Leuven. He is fluent in Dutch, English, French and Spanish

Based in Houston, Mr. Erazo covers North America and Latin America’s fuel quality specifications and regulations for the Global Fuel Specifications service. As an analyst, his work involves meeting the needs of Stratas Advisors clientele with knowledge of fuel specifications and policy within the two regions. Mr. Erazo comes with over 11 years’ experience in the environmental laboratory and analysis field; five of those years working with petroleum hydrocarbon analysis. Before joining Stratas Advisors, he worked as a senior analyst with Environmental Chemistry Incorporated. He holds a B.S. in Biology from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and a MBA from the University of Phoenix-Houston. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.


Anas

Mr. Abdoun's primary responsibility is to monitor and report updates on fuel quality specifications and vehicle emission policy developments in Africa and Middle East for the Global Fuel Specifications service, as well as cover African & Middle Eastern policies and markets for Stratas Advisors' research practices including the Fuels & Markets practice. Prior to joining Stratas Advisors, Anas worked as Political Analyst and followed the geopolitical risks in the Middle-East for COJEP International, a Turkish Organization. Mr. Abdoun, a native of France, holds a BA in Political Science and a certificate in Arab studies at the University of Montreal in Canada. He then returned to Europe to complete a Master’s degree in International Relations in Brussels at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles. He is fluent in Arabic, French and English.


Austin Trotta

Austin specializes in providing research, analysis, and insight into the North American and Latin American markets for Stratas’ biofuels and alternative fuels services. The main topics his research covers include renewable diesel, renewable natural gas, ethanol, biodiesel and related feedstock markets. In addition, he works closely with Stratas’ Demand team to produce forecasted biofuel demand outlooks and to model low-carbon fuel policies and the feasibility of renewable diesel projects. Prior to joining Stratas, he worked at a Spanish bank in trade finance, facilitating international energy trading and infrastructure deals. Austin graduated from the College of William & Mary with a bachelor's degree in Finance and Hispanic Studies. In addition to his native English, Austin speaks fluent Spanish, Catalan, and Portuguese.

Zihao Chen

Zihao is responsible for updating StratasScope databases and maintaining Enhanced Shale Services, in addition to gathering primary data and assisting with consultancy engagements. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Tulsa and a Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. Previous work experience includes an internship at DFG Energy. In addition to his native Chinese, Zihao is fluent in English.


Gabriel Fererra Rojano

Based in Brussels, Gabriel is part of the global biofuels team. His primary responsibilities include conducting research on the Latin American and European markets for Stratas’ core biofuels and alternative fuels services, as well as providing ad hoc consulting support. Prior to joining Stratas, Gabriel gained experience in the Belgian Energy Ministry as an energy data analyst trainee. He holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve. During his studies, Gabriel specialized in industrial organization, competition policy, and econometric analysis. In addition to his native Spanish, he speaks fluent English and French.



Janire Riobello | Analyst, Renewables & Alternatives | email

Based in Brussels, Janire monitors global and EU policy developments in relation to decarbonization and climate change, with a focus on energy markets and low-carbon alternatives, including battery and raw material supply chains. She holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Milan with a specialization in international climate change and environmental law. Prior to joining Stratas Advisors, she gained valuable experience in research and policy analysis in the non-profit sector, and contributed to the development of an environmental fintech company. She is fluent in Spanish, Basque, English, German, Italian, and French.


Casey Tan

Casey is responsible for monitoring and analyzing all public policy and market developments related to fuel specifications, vehicle emissions and other fuel related topics in the Asia Pacific region. She holds a master’s degree in Political and Legal Theory from the University of Warwick (UK). Prior to joining Stratas Advisors, Casey was a research assistant with a business advisory firm based in Singapore conducting research on the norms and institutional features of ASEAN. Previous work experience also includes an internship at the U.S. Embassy (Singapore) as a general services office intern. She is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.

Ms. Ang is an automotive analyst at Stratas Advisors. Prior to joining Stratas, she worked at Singapore’s Housing and Development Board’s (HDB) Industrial Property Group, where she analyzed and benchmarked their service and conservancy charges for future pricing framework. Zolaine holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Based in Singapore, Ms. Ang is bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese.


Cheryl Aw Yang

Cheryl graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, with a degree in Environmental Earth Systems Science (courses included Biostatistics, Microbiology, Environmental Biotechnology and Computational Earth System Science). Cheryl is fluent in English and Chinese.


Ayesha David

Based in Brussels, Ayesha's primary focus is on renewable transport fuels in North America and emerging markets. Prior to joining Stratas, Ayesha worked as an economics analyst at a UK refining industry trade association. She holds a master’s degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Toronto and a second master’s degree in Energy Policy from University College London. Ayesha is fluent in English and French.


Carlo Alberto Miani

Based in Brussels, Carlo is responsible for monitoring and analyzing all public policy and market developments related to fuel specifications, vehicle emissions and other fuel related topics in the Europe & CIS regions. Carlo’s previous professional experience before joining Stratas include a number of years of consultancy work on EU-funded transport infrastructure, business climate, private sector support and development cooperation projects, as well as periods supporting the European Commission in Brussels (DG TRADE) and the Italian Permanent Mission to the OSCE in Vienna. His educational background includes a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Bologna, as well as study abroad placements in the UK (University of Exeter) and in Russia (Higher School of Economics in Moscow). He is fluent in English, Italian, French and Russian, and also speaks good Dutch.
