Meet Our Leadership Team

John Paisie

Mr. Paisie is responsible for managing the research and consulting business worldwide. Prior to joining Stratas Advisors, Paisie was a partner with PFC Energy, a strategic consultancy based in Washington, D.C., where he led a global practice focused on helping clients (including IOCs, NOC, independent oil companies and governments) to understand the future market environment and competitive landscape, set an appropriate strategic direction and implement strategic initiatives. He worked more than eight years with IBM Consulting (formerly PriceWaterhouseCoopers, PwC Consulting) as an associate partner in the strategic change practice focused on the energy sector while residing in Houston, Singapore, Beijing and London. He was also a leader in the mergers and acquisition practice, and participated in several transactions. As an expatriate, he lived in Southeast Asia, China, the Middle East, Europe and Latin America. He started his career as an engineer with Sun Oil and worked as a project manager for Saudi Aramco before moving into strategy consulting. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Toledo and his MBA from Purdue University.

Dr. Sang Lee

Mr. Lee is responsible for analyzing the energy data value chain (oil, natural gas, NGLs, biofuels, refined products and petrochemicals) to develop forecasts and quantitative/analytic models in the Stratas Advisors’ analytics group. He is developing and enhancing forecasting models for global and regional energy demand, supply and prices using an econometrics approach. He is also performing various sensitivity and scenario analyses and high-level analytic or pricing modeling. Prior to joining Stratas Advisors, he worked for GS E&C, a global engineering firm, where he performed market research on pursuing business opportunities in the oil and gas markets by analyzing upstream, midstream and downstream value chains, along with dynamic energy market outlooks. He was responsible for analyzing and reporting energy market fundamentals for global oil and gas markets to support the company’s strategic decision-making process. He earned a bachelor degree from SungKyunKwan University in South Korea and a masters and doctorate from Texas A&M University.

Ashley About US

Mrs. Petersen is the lead oil market analyst responsible for evaluating analytical model outputs against real-world situations, in collaboration with data scientists and in-house subject matter experts, to develop recommendations for client projects and insights for subscription-based publications. She is responsible for crafting and presenting the firm’s oil market narrative to media and clients including producers and industry trade groups. Before joining Stratas Advisors, Ashley was a senior analyst at Morgan Stanley and IHS Energy specializing in crude price forecasting and Atlantic Basin fundamentals. Ashley is based in New York and has an MA in Energy and a BA in Management Consulting with a focus on Energy from Tulane University.

Mr. Beck has over 20 years’ experience in energy and financial services including stints with Jefferies and Company and Moody’s Investor Service. Before joining Stratas Advisors, he held a leadership position with IHS Markit. Stephen’s responsibilities include leading the North American Shale Team in developing production forecasting and economic models. He is also involved in broader short-term and long-term forecasting efforts. Stephen received a bachelor of science in finance (minor in economics) from The Pennsylvania State University. He is a former member of the United States Marine Corps where he held the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

Shuqiang Fang

Mr. Feng has over 16 years of experience in oil and gas industry specializing on upstream oil and gas field development and oilfield service market. He focuses on modeling and analyzing country level oil and gas production supply by managing Global Hydrocarbon Supply (GHS) Service, and maintaining a global upstream project database, which include onshore/offshore field construction, field development life-cycle timeline, field development spending assessment, field production forecasting and project economic valuation, etc. He holds a M.Sc. in Petroleum Mechanical Engineering from University of Petroleum, China, and an M.B.A in Finance from Tulane University.


Greg Haas

Mr. Haas leverages more than 25 years of integrated global energy experience as he leads a team serving the global energy industry clientele of the North American Midstream practice and institutional energy industry investors via ongoing independent research and retainer relationships. He currently oversees the Midstream research practice related to developments in the crude oil, condensate, NGL and natural gas industries, including the North American NGLNorth American Natural Gas and North American Oil services. Prior to joining Stratas Advisors, Greg held operating and research roles while at Exxon, the Electric Power Research Institute, energy and power consultancies, and energy equity analyst roles at brokerage firms Raymond James Financial and Sanders Morris Harris Group.  Haas holds an MBA, Finance, from Rice University and master and bachelor of science degrees in engineering from the University of Illinois.

George Popps

Mr. Popps is the lead analyst for Stratas Advisors’ Global LNG service and a contributor to the Global Gas service. He focuses primarily on the world trade of LNG while also adding support for Stratas’ engagements regarding LNG as a fuel. Prior to joining Stratas he spent time with Zeus Intelligence, a natural gas research firm, where he served in a similar analytical role. He holds a BBA in Finance from the College of William and Mary in Virginia.


Anjani Singh

Anjani oversees the Downstream practice, including the Global Refining & Products, North American Refining & Products, and Global Syngas Services. Mr. Singh has more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, including experience in the refining, petrochemicals and syngas downstream segments. He has experience modeling refining and petrochemical assets and assessing the impact of capital investments, changing feedstock and the integration of assets. The services that Mr. Singh oversees provides an integrated assessment of changing crude slates, forecasted fuel demand, projected refinery investments, and the impact on refinery economics, relative competitive position of individual refineries, and the fuel market, including global trade flows segmented by quality attributes (including octane and sulfur). Mr. Singh led the IMO study on marine bunker fuel supply, which included modeling of the refining sector from a global, regional and country-level – as well as individual refineries. He has also presented on refining industry opportunities and challenges, including the impact of Tier 3 regulations on FCC gasoline hydrotreating capacity requirements, and regional refinery fuel availability by fuel quality. Prior to joining Stratas Advisors, Mr. Singh worked for AspenTech, with the responsibility of leading the process engineering models development team and with Reliance, involved in the operations of refining and petrochemicals assets

Huiming Li

Ms. Huiming Li, based in Singapore, directs research and consulting for the Global Fuel Specifications (formerly the International Fuel Quality Center). Li leads GFS’s mission to improve communications among the refining, automobile and governmental sectors and enhance understanding of fuel-quality issues, and advises GFS clients, companies, governments and non-governmental organizations on fuel quality and policy issues. She also runs the day-to-day operations in the Singapore office. Prior to leading the GFS service, she directed research and consulting on the Asia-Pacific region for its fuels and transport services. She specialized in Asian fuel quality, biofuels and alternative fuels policy, and market trends. Ms. Li was a key author of the annual Global Biofuels Outlook, and has made numerous presentations on global and Asian fuel quality and biofuels developments at regional conferences and strategic meetings with clients. She continues to serve as a senior analyst for Stratas Advisors, regularly lending her expertise and strategic insights to clients. Ms. Li, a native of Singapore, earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in chemical engineering from the National University of Singapore.

Eric Lundin

Mr. Lundin is responsible for managing the services pertaining to biofuels and alternative fuels. He has 10 years of experience in assessing the current and future market conditions pertaining to transportation fuels including biofuels and RINs, and helping clients develop appropriate strategies. Prior to joining Stratas Advisors he was a senior consultant at IHS, where he was responsible for assessing and modeling refined product demand, including the linkages between gasoline and diesel demand with vehicle fleets and the biofuel markets. Mr. Lundin has a MA in International Relations from John Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies, and a BA in Economics and Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.

Trey Hohmann

Mr. Hohmann is a research manager for the global automotive service specializing in global light-duty vehicle forecasting, emissions modeling, and manufacturer supply chain analysis. Mr. Hohmann graduated in 2011 from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a minor in chemical engineering. He then went on to earn his MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of St. Thomas. While at Texas Tech University Mr. Hohmann was a member of the biofuels research team for the department of organic chemistry, where he gained experience in biofuels through his research in electro-catalytic transesterification to produce clean biodiesel.
